"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful."

At New Year, we had 1/1/11. Today is 1/11/11! In another 10 months we will be at 11/1/11. Ten days later, we will have 11/11/11.
This is a day of gratitude!

Numbers like that I find to be very spiritual. When I look at the clock and it is 3:33 or even 3:13, I feel like I am in the minute and connected to my Higher Power. When I go to do something, look at the clock and it is 4:44 or 11:11, I feel like I am in God's time. Attachments:

"The best way to keep relationships happy, healthy, and supportive can be summed up in one word: appreciation. What you appreciate, appreciates. When we demonstrate our appreciation for the support we receive from others, it reinforces that behavior and deepens our connection to them."
- Marci Shimoff, Author of Love For No Reason Think of this... When you invest in a house, or coins, or baseball cards, or Barbies, you hope that they will increase in value. In other words, you want the value to appreciate! The same is true of your relationships! You should nourish them, support them, and be grateful for them for they will increase in value. Appreciate your relationships! The truth is.... you have a relationship at one level or another, with EVERYONE! Don't take anyone for granted. Be grateful for that person.

"All the knowledge you possess everyone else can acquire, but what you possess in your heart is all your own!"
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe It is a cliche to say that you are a unique original masterpiece. There is no one else like you. You are a One-Of-A-Kind original. What you have in your heart, your feelings, emotions, and your thoughts can never be replicated. True - your heart is just a beating mass of muscle, but Goethe is talking about your soul; your essence. Be grateful that you are an Army of one! Do not live up to the expectations of others. Be yourself.

"We could never learn to be brave and patient, if there were only joy in the world."
- Helen Keller
Imagine a world that was always joyous. Would it be a nice place to live? Would you want to be there?
Your initial answer might be, Yes! Who would want to pass it up? Let's think about it.
If you were joyful all the time, how motivated would you be to improve yourself or your situation? What would inspire you to achieve more? Would there be anything to cause you to improve your life?
We get challenges in our daily life - you can choose to look at them as roadblocks that stop you in your tracks thereby causing you misery and despair. Or, you can look at it as an opportunity to improve yourself. The choice is yours!

"There are no ordinary moments. There is always something going on."
- The Peaceful Warrior, By Dan Millman
Have you read the book, The Peaceful Warrior? How about seen the movie with Nick Nolte?
This book is a fictional autobiography of Dan Millman as the lead character. In reality, the author has a professional background in gymnastics and teaching. In the book he was a college student who was in the gymnastic program. Long story short, He meets a mysterious old man who works the graveyard shift at a nearby gas station. Dan names this attendant 'Socrates' because he never gives a straight answer. At one point in the book, Dan realizes that even when he thinks there is nothing going on, in reality, there is always something going on. Because of this, there are no ordinary moments. The same is true for gratitude. You may think there is nothing going on right now and that everything is ordinary and 'just is'. In fact, there are no ordinary moments. There is always something to be grateful for.

"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."
- Anne Frank
If everyone did one little thing to make the world a better place, think of the collective result that would be! What an even more wonderful place it would be!
The best (and easiest way) to do this is to improve your life just a little bit.

"The time is always right to do what is right."
- Martin Luther King, Jr.
You generally know when you are doing the right thing. Sometimes you can get a little unsure, but for the most part, your gut will tell you when it is right.
And when you do what is right and you know it, you will feel more grateful. It is a good thing!
Go and do what is right!

"Do what you love and the money will follow."
- Marsha Sinetar You have probably heard today's quote before. You also probably heard the saying, "It is not about the money."
Gratitude is not about the money. If you do what you love and you do what brings you gratitude, ultimately, the money will follow.
I am grateful for doing what I love and getting a lot of things done

"Everything around us is made up of energy. To attract positive things in your life, start by giving off positive energy."
- Unknown Growing up, I recall my teachers saying, "What goes around, comes around." I never understood what that meant. I do now. How many people do you know that always have 'Bad Luck'? As the saying goes, "If it weren't for bad luck, he'd have no luck at all!" And yet, some other people have all the luck in the world. Interesting isn't it? And funny how that 'Bad Luck' person is usually miserable, a downer, unhappy, and knows that the world is against him. On the other hand, the person with the 'Good Luck' is happy, smiling, enjoying life, and full of gratitude! Does the Luck cause the Attitude? Or does the Attitude cause the Luck? Change your Attitude, Give off Positive energy and watch you life soar!

"Never let your memories be greater than your dreams." - Doug Ivester
If you are always building on and increasing your activities, you will lead a fulfilling life.
It is important to have dreams and goals, and you should be working towards them. Just having dreams and not taking action to achieve them will cause you to wilt.

"The only limits in your life are those that you set yourself."
- Unknown
When you set out to do something, think BIG! Go all out and be "on purpose." Plan out your work, and then work your plan. Many times it takes the same amount of effort to do BIG things as it does to do smaller things. Sounds like a contradiction, right?
A basic example - buying an inexpensive house has about the same activities as buying an expensive house. Taking a trip to a foreign country is only a little more involved than traveling only 100 miles away.
Yes, there may be a few more details to be ironed out, but it is not double the effort to buy a house that costs twice as much (getting twice the money is another story :-) ).
Set your sights high! Dream Big! Set lofty goals!

"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."
- Theodore Roosevelt
If you are always doing what you can, with the talent and resources that you have, wherever you are, you are doing your best.
And when you do your best, you have every right to be grateful!
Awesome!
